Stormy Seduction

While I've been recovering from surgery, I've not been completely off the grid. I've been busy catching up at work, I picked up a freelance writing gig for a magazine that caters to women in my local area and I've been working on the final edits for my newest book, Stormy Seduction.

This one started out by request from a publisher asking me to create and submit a story for a specific line. Since it was outside my "normal" genre, I wasn't entirely sure I could do it, but I figured I'm a writer, right? So I did what writers do and I wrote the story.

While it didn't get picked up from that particular publisher, Echelon Press did option it and a few weeks ago, we finalized the basic edits, worked out the cover art and the book will be published on October 15th. (To say I'm excited, is a gross understatement)

The past week has been spent on the proof. My publisher, Karen Syed, asked me to go through the file line by line and look for anything that needed corrected. It's a tedious job but still fun because it is the final step order to publication.

One of the things Karen warned me about was getting to excited and not taking my time with this step. Heeding her advice, I've taken this week to go through the manuscript several times. I have to be honest and say, each time I've done this, I've thought, "How many more corrections can I possibly find?" The answer to that question is, apparently, "Several". But I'm not going to be discouraged. I'm polishing my little novella in order to make it the best I can.

So tonight I sent the proof back to Karen. I should be getting ready for bed but instead, I'm sitting here staring at my email. Apparently I think Karen is just sitting at her computer, awaiting an email from me with the manuscript, so she can immerse herself in it and tell me how fantastic it is. (Wouldn't that be wonderful for me?) Realistically I know Karen has a life and isn't sitting on pins and needles awaiting my revisions...unless I'm pushing too close to deadline...but still, a girl can dream, right?

Rocking Romance Stories

One of the reasons I write primarily romance, is because I love to read romance. There isn't much better, in my opinion, than a well-crafted love story that pulls me in and gets me hooked. Because I like them, I figure you probably do, too. So I've created a list of some of my fav romantic stories.

Moment by Moment by Laura Taylor

Laura Taylor has crafted a romance with strong characters involved in unique circumstances but are still easily relatable characters. And the love scenes are hot. What else can a girl ask for??
